Himalayan Cat Adoption and Placement Policies
Please read the following information as it pertains to our policies for the adoption of our Himalayans and their placement into a new home.
Age
Our Himalayan kittens our available for their new homes when they are ready which is generally between ten to twelve weeks of age. We make the determination of which kittens are ready to leave our home on an individual basis so that the kitten has the best possible chance of making the adjustment to a new home and is at its healthiest both emotionally and physically.
Vaccinations and Wormings
Our Himalayan kittens will have age appropriate vaccinations and wormings prior to being placed in a new home.
Written Contract and Health Guarantee
Our Himalayan kittens are sold on a written contract with a health guarantee. Please read our contract/health guarantee prior to submitting an Application for one of our kittens.
Spay and Neuter Agreement
All of our Himalayan kittens are placed in their new homes on a spay or neuter agreement. This means that Abundant Luv Cattery will withhold the kitten's CFA registration paperwork until we receive written verification from a licensed veterinarian of the kitten's spay or neuter. The kitten must be altered within six (6) months of the date of sale and cannot have been bred prior to that or the Health Guarantee and Contract will become null and void.
NuVet Vitamin Supplement
Our Himalayan cats and kittens receive NuVet Plus vitamin supplement. We believe so strongly in this supplement, that the continuation of our kittens receiving these supplements are a condition of sale and the health guarantee. Information on NuVet Plus.
Prices
Depending on color, and adherence to the Himalayan breed standard, our kitten prices range between $400 and $1,000 for kittens with an alter agreement.
Deposit Information
In order to reserve your kitten, we require a non-refundable deposit of one-half (1/2) of the stated purchase price for that kitten. The balance due on the purchase price (including any shipping or delivery costs - see Shipping/Delivery) is due and payable on or before one week (7 days) prior to the kitten leaving our home (unless payment is made by PayPal in which case payment must be made within 48 hours of the kitten leaving our home). The Contract must be read, agreed to, signed and returned to Abundant Luv prior to any kitten being shipped.
All deposits are non-refundable unless, for some reason, we are unable to provide you with a kitten. Therefore, make sure you read, understand, and agree to the terms of our contract before reserving a kitten and sending a deposit.
Shipping/Delivery Information
If you are within the state of Colorado, we prefer to have you come to our home to pick up your kitten as we like to meet the people that we are entrusting our babies to. If you cannot come to our home, we can make arrangements to meet you, but we will charge you for the cost of gasoline.
We only ship within the continental United States. Our kittens are shipped out of Denver International Airport (DIA) in Denver, Colorado. We prefer to ship Continental, but they do not fly into all airports. If Continental does not service your area, we prefer to use Northwest. The cost of shipping is approximately $250 (for 9 pounds and under) to have your kitten shipped to you (via Continental, Northwest may be more). The shipping cost is in addition to the purchase price of the kitten. The shipping cost includes - the cost of the plane flight, crate (cat carrier), any shots that may be required by either Colorado or your state for the shipment of the kitten, veterinarian's health certificate, and a sample of the food that the kitten is currently eating. We also include a few of the kitten's favorite toys to keep it busy while traveling!
