Himalayan Cat Breeders - What it Means

Himalayan cat breeders, in our opinion, have the moral duty to provide their Himalayan cats and kittens with abundant love and care - which is how we came up with the name of our Himalayan cattery - Abundant Luv.

Abundant Luv implies exactly what the name says: We breed Himalayan cats with the utmost love and tender care. Our Himalayans are a main part of our home and especially our lives. We use top notch veterinarians for all of our Himalayan cats and kittens. Our Himalayan cats and kittens are always up to date with vaccinations and checkups. Besides being good and loving people, we proclaim ourselves to be very responsible and take the job of being Himalayan cat breeders very seriously. Our kittens receive the best possible care and our main objective is placing them with good homes and families in hopes of continuing that all important love and caring. We put a lot of time and research in selecting people for our "kids" and we keep in constant contact after our kittens leave our home. Both of us (Barbara and Charles), devote a great deal of our lives to giving the best to our animals.

We are relatively new to the breeding of Himalayan cats, but we are not new to the breeding hobby. We are also known as Gaitway Goldens as we breed, train and show Golden Retrievers. We have been raising and showing Goldens for over thirty years, and we have many titles and championships in the fields of Conformation and Obedience. Barbara was an obedience instructor for seven years for the Lower Bucks Dog Club in Pennsylvania. We were also very active in several Dog Therapy programs. We would routinely visit nursing homes and hospitals. The joy that it brought to the residents was priceless. Barbara's claim to fame is when she appeared on the Al Albert's talent show. The club members from Lower Bucks Dog Training performed a square dancing routine with their dogs. They had a great time and the audience loved them and especially the dogs.

Barbara and I love all animals and sometimes I kid her about starting to build an Ark. Besides the dogs and cats, we also ride and show Quarter horses. Barbara is an excellent rider and has won her class championship at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado both in 2001 and 2002. Me, I am known as a trail rider and UNPAID kennel help.

Barbara and I have been married for 39 years (September 2006), and I am a retired U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department. I have been retired since 2004 and I love the extra time I can devote to helping Barbara with the animals. We also run a Pet Sitting business and we have a great reputation in the Elizabeth and Elbert County area. As I said before, we love all animals and our travels with pet sitting have enabled us to take care of cats, dogs, hamsters, horses, burros, pigs, geese, buffalo and anything that anyone would call his/her pet.

Barbara continues to show today and always keeps up on the latest news and items of importance when it pertains to our animals. I continue to be the designated driver to all the dog and horse shows and am best known as the chief "set-up man". We do a lot of traveling and love every minute of it. As stated before, our cats and dogs are our "kids" and we do everything possible to give them the best of care. We belong to the "Mile High Golden Retriever" club of Colorado and the Cat Fancier's Association. The names of our two hobbies are: Abundant Luv Himalayans, and Gaitway Goldens. Barbara and I are committed to place our kittens and puppies with families that will love them as much as we do.
